What to Expect From Your First Class

Our mission is to make you feel at home. From the first time you walk through the doors at Soulcraft, you’ll notice we’re not like the other guys. Often times Jiu Jitsu or MMA schools are comprised of “tough” guys that are more into training themselves then helping you, the student, begin the journey of a lifetime.

While we offer a great workout and a wealth of quality, skilled training partners and instructors, we are not “that” gym. At Soulcraft you’ll know instantly that you are the focus. As soon as you set foot in our facility, you’ll be aware of 3 very important things that separate us from the myriad of other MMA and Jiu Jitsu schools in the greater New Haven area:

1. Everyone is here to make you better.
We know the better we make you, the better we will be; not only on the mat, but as people—so we’ll always go out of our way to bring out your best.

2. we are friendly and we are a family.
From the top down, we are an ego and attitude free academy—treating every prospective member as part of our family from day one. There is no initiation or feeling out period like other gyms; at Soulcraft we aim to make you feel like family from day one because we know how intimidating it can be to walk through the doors for the first time.

When you come to your first class at Soulcraft, you’ll be introduced to your assigned ambassador. Basically someone to help you for your first few lessons as you get to know the other students and to help make you feel comfortable as you join in class and get to see what Jiu Jitsu, MMA, or Muay Thai is all about.

3. Our facility is spotless!
We take hygiene and safety seriously. Our mats and locker rooms are cleaned daily and our students and instructors wear clean uniforms at all times.

No worries! At Soulcraft you can observe any class, any time and meet our instructors to ask questions before ever getting on the mat. We hope you choose to jump right in on your first visit, however first and for most you need to understand our commitment to you and feel comfortable.
