New England Submission Challenge

The Fall Classic

We’re doing it again! We are excited to bring Connecticut’s original Sub-Only grappling event back. We’ll have even more awesome matches, high-level competitors and fun for our October 16th event. Here’s what you need to know:

RULES and INFO

All divisions are Ages 16 – and up (except Teens 12-15)

There will be ABSOLUTELY no day of registration for this event! Sign up early as this is a pre-registration only event and registration will close 2 days prior to our event day. We feel strongly that we owe it to our competitors to keep things moving and orderly. So… all divisions will be bracketed and organized prior to the day of our event. DON’T WAIT TO SIGN UP!

 

POINTS

There are no points or advantage points calculated for any positions/moves! Go for the submission!

 

MATCH LENGTH

All division matches up to the finals will be 15 min in length.  Finals matches will have no time limit.

 

MATCH OUTCOME

SUBMISSION IS THE NAME OF THE GAME!

An athlete must submit their opponent to advance in the bracket. If there is no submission for bracket matches in the allotted time of 15 minutes, both competitors are disqualified and do not advance.

In brackets with 3 competitors, it will be set up as a best of three with each competitor getting 3 shots at victory.

 

ILLEGAL SUBMISSIONS

These submission attempts will result in 1 warning then IMMEDIATE disqualification.

Slam from the guard

Twisting leg locks of any kind (heel hooks, toe holds and inverted heel hooks and inverted toe holds) except in expert divisions

Cervical locks of any kind

Neck cranks or neck locks of any kind

Calf locks of any kind

Scissors takedowns of any kind

Twister

 

For expert and absolute division, all submissions are legal!!!

 

Absolute Division

$500 cash prize awarded for the winner of this division.  Note: You must be a registered competitor who places in the top 2 of your division to qualify for the Absolute Division.

Beginner (1 year and below – *no wrestlers in beginner div)
